WASHINGTON, DC – LawFuel.com – September 14, 2009 – Holland & Knight is pleased to announce that the firm received a rating of 100 Percent — the highest possible rating in the 2010 Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index of Best Places to Work. This is the third consecutive year that Holland & Knight has received the highest score.
The Corporate Equality Index conducts a survey and rates employers regarding their policies and practices pertinent to gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) employees, consumers and investors. The Index rates employers on a scale from 0 to 100 percent. Ratings are based on factors such as non-discrimination policies, diversity training and benefits for domestic partners and transgender employees.
The 2010 Corporate Equality Index surveyed 127 law firms and 590 private employers in various industries. Holland & Knight is among 88 law firms and 305 private employers that received a rating of 100.
“Holland & Knight is proud to be recognized by the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index for the third year in a row, with its highest possible rating,” said Paul Thomas, Holland & Knight’s Chief Diversity Officer. “It is our goal to be a diversity leader and ensure our workplace is one of the best for members of the LGBT community.”
“Even in an economic environment that has presented new challenges for lawyers in private practice, the nation’s largest and most prestigious law firms have only stepped up their commitment to recruiting and retaining a diverse group of attorneys and staff,” said HRC Foundation President Joe Solmonese. “Legal work in this country is deeply rooted in our nation’s core values of equality and justice for all, and law firms continue to set the gold standard for treating their LGBT employees fairly.”
