NEW YORK- LAWFUEL – Legal News, Legal Jobs Network –ALM, a leading media company serving legal and business professionals, today announced a collaborative research agreement with the American Bar Foundation, an independent, nonprofit national research institute committed to objective empirical research on law and legal institutions. The relationship will provide the ABF with full access to the ALM ResearchTM database containing the company’s industry survey and research data, including Am Law 200® law firm financial data, as well as NLJ 250® and Diversity Scorecard® demographic information. The ABF will establish a new working group of academic researchers who will use ALM’s industry-leading data to conduct further research and analysis of law firm business and practice, covering topics such as financial performance and lawyer mobility, as well as law firm and practice group awareness.
In addition, ALM will have rights to use ABF working group reports in its legal magazines and newspapers, and to market the reports and other work developed based on ALM data. ALM expects to use the interrelated databases and new data subsets resulting from the ABF’s work to support new editorial initiatives and reporting, create new database products, and guide the development of new research projects and custom research reports.
“Our agreement with the ABF will provide members of the profession and ALM with analysis of leading industry data by some of the nation’s top researchers in the field,” said William Pollak, president and CEO of ALM. “We expect that their work will yield insights into professional trends that can serve as the basis for both new editorial efforts and additional data gathering by ALM Research.”
