Optical Fiber Identifier Operates Without Service Interruption

Toronto, Canada – GAO Fiber Optics (www.GAOFiberOptics.com) has released its handheld optical fiber identifier which is suitable for the installation and maintenance of optic networks and is applicable for bare fiber as well as cable. The compact optical fiber identifier efficiently identifies optical fibers without any damage by detecting the optical signals passing through the fiber without opening the fiber at a splice point for identification and interruption.
This optical fiber identifier, model LP-251, detects traffic direction and displays three levels of signal intensity. It identifies 270Hz, 1KHz and 2KHz frequency signals within a dynamic wavelength range of 900nm to 1650nm. The portable identifier features low bending loss and highly efficient output. An audible tone can be heard when traffic is present on the fiber during testing.
