Philadelphia, PA – February 13, 2012 – Pepper Hamilton LLP announced that Thomas M. Gallagher and Brian M. Katz, partners in the Philadelphia office, have been elected to the Executive Committee, the law firm’s governing body. Both were elected for three-year terms, commencing February 1, 2012.
Mr. Gallagher is chair of the firm’s White Collar and Corporate Investigations Practice Group. He represents clients in white collar criminal matters, corporate investigations and complex civil litigation. Mr. Gallagher’s national practice is primarily focused in the health care industry. He represents pharmaceutical companies, medical device companies, hospitals, providers, physicians and other individuals. He also represents businesses and individuals facing investigation by federal and state law enforcement authorities, government regulatory agencies and congressional committees. Mr. Gallagher received his undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania in 1982, and his law degree, cum laude, from Villanova University School of Law in 1989, where he was editor-in-chief of the Villanova Law Review.
Mr. Katz is chair of the firm’s Corporate and Securities Practice Group. Mr. Katz concentrates his practice in securities, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and general corporate representation. He handles all types of business transactions, including public and private securities offerings, venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture relationships, electronic commerce matters and compensation issues. Mr. Katz is a 1988 graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, with a B.S. in economics from the Wharton School and a B.A. in political science from the College of Arts and Sciences. He earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Temple University School of Law in 1992.
