This is because they require greater levels of positive stimuli in order to access the positive aspects of an experience. Victims of rape and trauma also tend to become more sensitive to negative experiences.
Despite these challenges, rape and trauma survivors are able to experience the full range of positive emotions they could experience before their ordeal after it with help.

Letting yourself feel your emotions, whatever they are, is also important. Finally, finding activities that make you feel good and exercise can also help you heal.
